Potters for Peace relies on individual donations and fundraising to continue our work. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization so you will be sent a tax receipt for your donation.

How to Donate

There are several ways to donate to PFP:

  • Donate online through Paypal. A simple, safe, and secure way to donate using your credit card or bank account.
  • Send a check through the mail the old fashioned way. The address is:
    Potters for Peace
    P.O. Box 2214   Boulder, CO 80306
  • Donate for a friend. Honor a special occasion by giving a donation in a friend’s name and we will send that person a beautiful card informing them of your thoughtful gift.
  • Donate your frequent flyer miles. We will use them to send technical workers to assist with projects around the world. Frequent flyer miles must be for a complete flight.

Individual Donations

Donations from individuals are the backbone of our funding and knowing that others believe in PFP’s work sustains us along the way. Whatever your giving capacity, you can help. Small donations make a big difference! Potters for Peace is featured in the book Give a Little by Wendy Smith (Hyperion Books), a book that shows how effective individual donations are in bringing about positive change.

One cannot be a “card carrying member” of PFP as we don’t have that kind of membership policy but when you donate you will be placed on the mailing list for PFP newsletters.

Group Donations

An ideal way for a group to contribute to PFP is through an annual benefit pottery sale or other promotional event. One way to do this is to hold an event under the auspices of the Empty Bowls Project. We can help with informative media and wholesale Nicaraguan pottery.

Another option is to hold a sale of Nica pottery, with the money raised going to Potters for Peace. If you purchase pottery for this purpose from Peace by Piece Fair Trade, they will give you a discount. Contact Brian Benn at peacefairtrade@gmail.com.

Another option is for pottery cooperatives or guilds to develop an on-going relationship with a Central American pottery cooperative. This relationship could include sponsoring travel and interchanges to each other’s workshops, fundraising for infrastructure improvements, or funding children’s schooling and health care. PFP will be happy to work with you on this.

Donations to our Filter Program

If you wish to donate to our Filter Program, please include a note with your donation indicating that you wish the money to go towards filters. Money donated to the Filter Program goes towards putting locally sustainable filter producing shops into production, not into distributing filters individually.

Potters for Peace does not share or sell personal information.

Sorry that it was difficult to set up the acknowledgement. I’ve sent your message to our executive director and she will make sure the correct acknowledgement goes out. Thanks for your support!
